The Royal Canadian Geographical Society launches the Shackleton Quest Expedition-a search to find Sir Ernest Shackleton’s last ship
Now I know where Jill has been for the past week
June 10th, 2024, St. John’s, Newfoundland – The Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS) is leading the Shackleton Quest Expedition off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador to find the historic shipwreck of Quest, a schooner-rigged steamship that is famous as polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton’s last expedition ship and the ship upon which he died in 1922.
RCGS Explorer-in-Residence Jill Heinerth is a participating team member. More info at this RCGS LINK.
I'm not sure if you have heard of or seen the documentary to recreate his cabin from the ship. Very interesting documentary.
