I would love to be the people-optimist that Jill is, however I sadly see the world like Robert. I cheer myself with the thought that I am wrong and the sky in the USA isn't falling, dragging the rest of us down with it.
Hi Janine - Yes, Jill is a "glass half-full" person and thankfully a lot of it rubs off on me. But - we have had very different life experiences, most notably I was born and raised in the U.S. and Jill in Canada. I've also seen, throughout my military and nursing careers, the not-so-pleasant side of humanity. However, I have hope that the younger people in our lives will change things for the better. Oh...sorry...that may be an optimistic viewpoint! Cheers, Robert
This was a breath of fresh air! I may not agree with everything politically, but that’s okay, and that’s the point. I love talking with others and learning. Life is too short to not be kind. I’ve always been a fan of yours, Jill. You’ve got such a unique perspective on our planet having been places no one else has. You’ve earned the respect. If you and Robert ever find yourselves back in Florida, I’d love to buy you both a coffee . Y’all are the best!
Fascinating couple, relating to the both of you I do have some insight. I would have liked to have the time to do it right, getting to know one another and pass my cave courses. In Florida I did not understand the time constraint with the late afternoon alligators. Not to mention the piggy back ride.
Thank you for that! I sure needed it! I’ve been taking a lot of big deep breaths since the election. My lungs need to stretch down to my toes sometimes! Just last night my wife and I were talking about how truth does matter and how intentional and critical one must be to uncover it. First time I heard the term “Alternative facts” my brain and mouth exploded!
Doing what I can towards the world I want to live is a lot more productive than sitting at home worrying. Healthier too! We marched on Saturday. Let’s hope that all that bombastic talk will not materialize in much action. That coffee with someone of opposite thinking will have to wait until tomorrow. But I do a lot of that, it’s the only way out of where we are. Most of us have the same goals. I hope for a rainbow bike ride for you tomorrow!
